IDEAL House arrives
NOMAD delivered the "Ideal House" to the Mechanical Engineering car park on June 5th 2007
The process of moving the IDEAL House research facility from NOMAD to the Mechanical Engineering car park was a tricky process, however some good planning got us through. Here are some of the steps that we went through to get it to its final resting destination:
- 8:00am - at NOMAD, IDEAL House doors are locked shut, and the unit is prepared for moving
- 9:00am - large forklift lifts unit onto the back of a truck, secured and ready for transportation
- 9:25am - Truck leaves with escort vehicle past Fremantle and down Stirling Highway
- 9:40am - House Arrives at UWA ready to be lifted onto supports
- 10:00am - Mounting blocks are levelled by one of NOMAD's carpenters
- 10:30am - Crane is fastened to IDEAL House and lifted carefully into place
- 11:30am - IDEAL House is in place and ready to be used as a research facility
